EDC among 5 bidders for geothermal, hydro projects on February 17, 2021 at 9:00 pm
Five power generators led by Lopez-led Energy Development Corporation (EDC) have submitted bids to the Department of Energy (DOE) in its third Open and Competitive Selection Process (OCSP3), which aims develop renewable energy (RE) projects in the country.
The DOE offered a total of 22 pre-determined areas for development, five of them geothermal and 17 hydropower.
EDC submitted its bids for the 27-megawatt (MW) Daklan Geothermal Project in Bokod, Benguet and the 17MW Puting Lupa Geothermal Project in Laguna.
The Philippine Geothermal Production Company also submitted its bid to take on the Daklan plant, as well as the 30MW Mount Labo Geothermal Project in the Camarines Norte-Camarines Sur-Quezon area. MASE Power Corporation is also competing with EDC for Puting Lupa.
