CADIZ After nearly a year in the works, the Puskarich Public Library unveiled its newly renovated facility that includes an array of new amenities for the public to enjoy. Dozens of local officials and patrons attended the library’s grand reopening Monday. The library recently underwent a $1.1 million renovation project that includes handicap accessible features, a new front entrance, a local history section, expanded children’s department, a new teen section, private study rooms, maker space, recording studio, genealogy area and more.

At-home COVID tests now available at Cadiz library | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer CADIZ Harrison County residents will have the opportunity to test themselves for the coronavirus from the comfort of their home now that the Puskarich Public Library is offering free at-home COVID-19 test kits to residents. Library Director Sandi Thompson made the announcement during Wednesday’s Harrison County Board of Commissioners meeting. She said the library has 400 at-home test kits available for pick-up. The tests were provided to the library through the Ohio Department of Health. The rapid testing kits are self-administered and provide results within minutes, Thompson said. The kits work through an app that the individual must download onto their smartphone, tablet or computer.

CADIZ The $1.1 million Puskarich Public Library renovation project that began last summer is nearing completion with a grand reopening of the new and improved facility set for April 7. The library has been involved in a renovation project since June that will allow the building to be more handicap accessible and feature new amenities. The renovations are the first set of upgrades the facility has received since its opening in 1986.

Rep Jones announces capital projects funding in Southern Ohio | News, Sports, Jobs

Dec 26, 2020 COLUMBUS State Representative Don Jones (R-Freeport) announced state lawmakers have unveiled Ohio’s proposed two-year state construction budget. It includes funding for a variety of initiatives across the state and aids local projects across the 95th house district. “In the works for over a year, the capital bill is essential to building and sustaining a strong community,” said Jones. “I was proud to work with my colleagues to secure the necessary funds to various projects in the 95th district and the rest of the state.” Belmont County will receive a total of $1,200,000 in appropriations, Carroll County $180,000, Harrison County $265,000, Noble County $400,000 and Washington County $725,000. Local projects for the 95th house district funded in the bill include the following:
