Redbridge Council has two new Labour councillors after by-elections.
Ms Warraich secured 2,184 votes, beating off competition from Conservative candidate Hasnain Ahmed and Liberal Democrat Mohammed Uddin, who received 756 and 197 votes respectively.
Speaking after her win, the new Loxford councillor said: I can t wait to get stuck in. As I ve been door knocking, I ve been picking up information and trying to help and support people. The work started as soon as I started my campaign really.

With just a few weeks to go until polling day, the candidates for the two vacant Redbridge Council seats in Loxford and Seven Kings wards make their case as to why you should vote for them.
The council by-elections are taking place on the same day as the capital votes on the next mayor of London and the London Assembly on Thursday, May 6.
The Ilford Recorder asked each of those standing in Loxford and Seven Kings what they would do to improve the lives of residents in the respective wards if elected.
Having black representation is not just about filling a diversity quota, but reflecting the black community experience, our ideas, history and issues to Redbridge Council, although we recognise that other minority groups are also unrepresented.
Cllr Jas Athwal said Redbridge Labour s current group was the most diverse in its history but said BLM s concerns were a fair challenge and promised to support potential candidates in 2022.
