nick said the white house doesn t want any votes in the senate until they re voting on health care. is it the white house position that they will accept the senate voting on nonhealth care things over the next few weeks and months? we re continuing to push forward, hopefully with the repeal and replacement of obamacare. we ve never been shy about that. we re going to continue to do that. the white house pushing obamacare. with me now is senator tammy baldwin from wisconsin. a member of the health education and labor committee. senator, thanks for joining. you are still in session for the next two weeks. your response to the white house saying they need more obamacare votes? you know, if the new team thatonald trump assembling was smt, they would really press him to switch gears.
they were softer there at b. democrats a d minus. the whole thing when he talks about obamacare and repeal, he has got to sell what is he doing. you can see that bump when he started talking about the tax credit, what they are going to do. he doesn t need to slam obamacare anymore. he needs to sell the policy that they are trying to put forward. sandra: next one is american pride he talks about showing in the last election. thinking we can dream for our country, we can achieve for our country. all we have to do is tap into that american pride that is swelling our hearts and stirring our souls and we found that out very recently in our last election, a lot of pride. he. sandra: seems like a bit of a come-together moment there. there was. you could see democrats were getting on board. of course we are all excited by touched by american proud and as soon as he said we saw that in the last election, the democrats dip right down, forget it but, at the same time, when he does talk ab
so the first thing that rolls out on the table is never the last thing that gets signed. so, everybody needs to chill a little bit and be a little respect thinrespectfulthis is a. lesson take a spoon and spice they will want to put to it. there will be changes. frankly there needs to be. what i really hope for the president is this, that he is very careful that he remembers that he won the national election, not paul ryan. the reason that s important is because i think paul ryan is a good guy but is he a washington wonk. donald trump is a guy that got elected because he was listening to the hearts and the passions of people who have been run over by washington wonks. and this healthcare bill had better help them and protect them and not do what obamacare did to them and, frankly, what some the washington wonkisms would do to them. and more flexibility to the states through medicaid, truly a block grant. let the governors have work requirements.
pictures out of paris. airport on high alert after a suspected terrorist stole a gun from an airport security officer that opened fire. after exchanging gunfire he was shot dead. according to french news reports the suspected terrorist was radicalized muslim who police already had their eye on. they have been watching this guy. no one else was hurt. airport remains closed. keep it on funeral. we will have more as this story unfolds. sandra? sandra: thank you, clayton. president trump back on the road traveling to detroit and nashville looking to create jobs and get backers for his obamacare overhaul. so what did the american people think about his latest policy push? here to break it all down, president and partner at miss alan ski and partners lee carter is here. always great to see you. great to be here. sandra: what did we learn? how are the american people feeling. independent support is softening a little bit.
what he proposes. we don t have to like him. buff we have to accept that he is the president and we have to respect the office of the presidency. if she would say that, then i believe she is trying to bring us together. if all she is going to do is raise her fist in the air and say resist, well, look, it s too late to resist. that s what we do every four years. it s called an election. donald trump won. and people need to accept it. again, they don t have to like it. this is america. we are free to disagree. but we re not free to try to delegitimize the duly elected president of the united states. sandra: all right. so hillary clinton out of the woods. meanwhile, president trump, governor huckabee, continues to battle this healthcare situation that he is currently in, pushing obamacare repeal and replace into the end zone. he says he is 100 percent behind the bill as the house gets ready to vote next week. he is pushing this. he is throwing his full support behind it. where does this
