Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday met Tabassum Khatoon, the widow of Angara lynching victim Mubarak Khan, and her two minor sons at his assembly office on Tuesday and assured to book the culprits soon and promised to look into their demands for compensation and a government job.
Tabassum and her sons were brought to the assembly by Congress MLA from Jamtara, Irfan Ansari. While meeting the chief minister, Tabassum and her children were accompanied by Ansari, her relative Shenaz Khatoon, Congress MLA from Jharia Jharia MLA Purnima Singh and Khijri MLA Rajesh Kacchap.
Before meeting the CM and ahead of the start of the Budget session, Ansari told reporters that he has demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for the family and a government job for Tabassum.

Sindri: Former Jharia MLA Sanjiv Singh was shifted to Dumka Central Jail on Sunday amidst tight security on Sunday on the instructions of IG (jail) due to alleged threat to his life at Dhanbad jail.
As soon as the news of his shifting reached his supporters, hundreds reached the jail gate and opposed his shifting and alleged political pressure. Dozens of vehicles belonging to his supporters followed the police cavalcade to Dumka Central Jail.
Singh is in jail since April 2017 on charges of conspiring to kill his cousin brother and former Dhanbad deputy mayor Neeraj Singh. Earlier, he was shifted to Hotwar jail in Ranchi from where he was sent to Dhanbad on court orders. His lawyer Md Javed has filed a petition before the court to shift him to a higher medical centre for treatment as he was suffering from different ailments and the matter is slated for hearing on Tuesday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 9, 2021) Scientists have devised a new approach for detecting and potentially heading off the effects of two rare pediatric diseases before birth.
The study, performed in mouse models of the diseases and published today in
Cell Reports, represents an important step toward much-needed early interventions for Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome and Silver-Russell syndrome.
Both diseases result in growth-related symptoms in children and often lead to additional problems later in life, such as increased cancer risk from Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome and increased metabolic disease risk from Silver-Russell syndrome.
