RICHMOND, Va. Distribution of coats to neighbors in need began Monday when the Salvation Army Christmas Center officially opened its doors.
The center houses thousands of coats collected as part of the Puritan Cleaners Coats for Kids drive.
Because of the pandemic, coat distribution is more staggered than in past years.
Mask wearing and social distancing are also in place for the safety of workers and families who have been pre-selected to receive donated items.
