Kargil,January 20 (Scoop News)- Cultural activist from Goma Kargil, Anayat Ali Shotopa organised a special event to mark Kargil’s ethnic food festival of Mamani for the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, ShriR. K.Mathur. The Hon’ble L-G of Ladakh was accompanied by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve at Circuit House in Kargil.
Anayat Ali Shotopa has been instrumental in the revival of Mamani in Kargil over the last decade. The special Mamani event included 18 unique dishes from the local Ladakhi and Purgi cuisine. It included dishes such as Thugpa, hrsabkhur, Poli (buckwheat pancake), Kisir (fermented buckwheat), Markhur, Azug, Zerchung, Bales, Prapo, hSku, Gangtur and apricot cream, which is Anayat Ali Shotopa’s personal recipe. KARGIL, Feb 19: Executive Councillor for Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi underlined the need for preservation of culture and promotion of tourism in Shakar Chiktan.
The EC stated this while addressing at the concluding ceremony of the Ladakh Winter Carnival, 2021 at the historic Chiktan Shagaran here.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kargil Tsering Motup, Councillor Chiktan Mohsin Ali, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shakar Chiktan Kacho Asgar Ali Khan, Chairperson Block Development Council (BDC) Sayeda Banoo, Sarpanchs, Panchs besides Sub Divisional Officers and hundreds of locals were present on the occasion.
