Puducherry CM Narayanasamy continues protest against LG Kiran Bedi

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Saturday continued his sit-in protest near Raj Nivas, demanding the Central government recall Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi. The ruling Congress-led Secular Democratic Alliance in Puducherry started a four-day protest against Bedi on Friday, claiming that she was not allowing the elected government to function. The Chief Minister along with his cabinet colleagues, legislators of the ruling party, and workers of the alliance parties have participated in the dharna. They were seen carrying posters and placards, reading Corporate Modi Quit! Quit!, Call back Kiran Bedi. She is not allowing the elected government to function and is interfering in day to day administration. People will sit peacefully and agitate for at least three days, the Chief Minister had said.

Harbhajan Mann, Jazzy B, Rabbi Shergill take the stage at Tikri border

Harbhajan Mann, Jazzy B, Rabbi Shergill and a host of other Punjabi singers performed at an Artists for Farmers concert at the Tikri border on Monday night, raising spirits of farmers camping on the road braving cold and rain as they await a resolution to their demand for repeal of new farm laws. Some of them sang songs of dissent, some raised slogans and delivered motivational speeches, and virtually everyone paid their gratitude to the farmers protesting against the Centre s three farm laws for over a month now. Their message was loud and clear: We stand by you. Kanwar Grewal, Harf Cheema, Noor Chahal too performed in the concert. Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker, who has been vocal about her support for the farmers movement and joined the protest at the Singhu border, was also present at the event.

Maryam Nawaz lashes at Imran, asks why he assumed office if wasn t prepared

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday ripped into the government, asking why Prime Minister Imran Khan assumed office when he was not prepared for the challenges. Addressing the Pakistan Democratic Movement s (PDM) Mehangai March in Mardan here, she said: Before the election, [the prime minister] used to say that he has a team of 200 fantastic individuals. Where is that 200-person team now? Dawn reported. Ministers in his cabinet play musical chairs with each other [.] but that 200 person team is nowhere to be seen in Pakistan, she said. He says that he was unaware about the country s power issues, external debt, the current account deficit, and didn t know how to run the government and was not prepared. However, you were prepared for the sugar, wheat and LNG scams through which you stole from the people s pockets, she said.
