Suspended July 9, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Tahir Rasheed took notice of closure of an elevator and inconvenience of the patients stuck in it at PINS during working hours on Thursday. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the MS issued orders for immediate suspension of lift operator Muhammad Irfan and departmental action has been directed against him. He also constituted a three-member committee to investigate the matter and submit a report within 24 hours. The committee will be headed by Assistant Professor Dr Muhammad Akmal, as chairman, while the members of the committee included Dr Shahid Mukhtar and DMS Dr Umar Naseem. The administration of the institute took immediate action and evacuated people trapped in the elevator and no damage was done. MS Dr Tahir Rashid instructed all the lift operators to be careful and show no negligence during their duty.

Shahbaz taken for tests to cancer hospital Top Story By News Desk LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif was hospitalised on Thursday for a short duration in a Lahore cancer hospital for medical tests, a day after he sought permission from an accountability court to leave a hearing because he was not feeling well. Shahbaz’s tests were conducted after a check-up at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Lahore (INMOL). After the tests, Shahbaz was discharged from the hospital and taken back to Kotlakhpat Jail. The PML-N leader is a cancer survivor. According to state media, the opposition leader underwent a positron emission tomography (PET) scan and other tests. His personal physicians were present in the hospital.
