The death of the youth prompted farmer leaders to put the protest march on hold until Friday. Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarvan Singh Pandher, who was present at Shambhu border, said they would “review” the situation Friday.
Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have enforced restrictions under CrPC Section 144 ahead of the Bharat Bandh called by farmers unions on Friday. Commuters are advised to use the metro rail service whenever possible to minimize inconvenience.
