Flood warning issued in Louisville as Ohio River continues to climb Ayana Archie, Louisville Courier Journal
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Louisville Tuesday, following a weekend of rainfall that blanketed the state and caused rising river levels.
The warning was issued around noon. It means flooding is imminent or occurring.
Most of the concern is for flooding along the Ohio River, which could cause flooding on River Road, yards in the Shawnee neighborhood and Ind. 111, according to meteorologist Ron Steve.
The city recorded about 3.5 inches of rain Sunday, making it the rainiest Feb. 28 on record, according to the National Weather Service. It was the most rain for that date since 1.7 inches fell in 1987, according to the agency.
