GINA: THE SEWERAGE AND WATER BOARD ALERTED NEIGHBORS AROUND THE CARROLLTON PLANT THAT IT WILL NEED TO USE ITS NOISY GENERATORS TO PROVIDE POWER TO ITS DRAINAGE PUMPS THIS WEEKEND. THE UTILITY COMPANY TWEETED THIS MORNING THAT THE GENERATORS ARE A CRITICAL PART OF THE CITY’S DRAINAGE SYSTEM. YOU’LL RECALL FIVE NEW PORTABLE GENERATORS WERE OBTAINED AFTER FLOODS IN 2017 CAUSED THE WIDESPREAD DAMAGE. THE GENERATORS WERE INTENDED TO BE BACKUPS TO THE MAIN POWER SOURCE, BUT IT HAS BECOME THE GO TO OPTION AS THE AGING TURBINES HAVE FAILED. ONLY TWO OF THE TURBINES ARE AVAILABLE, AND GENERATORS ARE NEEDED FOR PUMPS THAT DON’T GET POWER DIRECTLY FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES. IN THIS CASE, ENTERGY. 97 OF THE 99 DRAINAGE PUMPS ARE OPERATIO
