Snap Inc, parent company of messaging app Snapchat, made news for doubling its user base in India to 200 million within the space of a year, buoyed by greater adoption of new products such as short video offering Spotlight that is taking on the likes of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
The Los Angeles-based tech firms cofounder and CEO Evan Spiegel, who is on an India visit, said Snap will grow its community and tap advertisers here and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to further its augmented reality (AR) playbook.
