After three COVID-19 outbreaks affected 23 essential workers at Pueblo’s Mission Foods plant, workers on Monday started receiving their first doses of the vaccine.
The plant’s entire 200-employee staff is now eligible for the vaccine. Leadership of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 7, which represents the employees, encouraged workers to get their vaccine at the Pueblo Mall drive-through clinic, 3429 Dillion Drive, where they may obtain shots 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. daily.
The plant has had three outbreaks of the virus since June, when six cases were reported. A second outbreak of eight cases was reported in December, while the third outbreak came in January and involved nine workers.

Many questions remain unanswered as to how trained medical staff didn t notice the empty syringe before injecting the needle into someone s arm.
Rosalee s granddaughter, Jamie, took her grandmother to get her first round of the COVID-19 vaccine at the public health COVID-19 clinic set up at the Pueblo Mall on Jan. 12.
