Van Wert City Council adopted a number of end-of-year housekeeping fiscal measures and the 2021 permanent appropriations ordinance during a brief final meeting Monday to close out 2020.

Council considers Charter Commission legislation for May ballot, discusses finances

VAN WERT – During Monday’s regular City Council meeting, Councilman
Andrew Davis explained that if Council wanted to put legislation on the
May ballot to ask voters, again, if they would like a Charter Commission
to be formed, they would have to discuss the issue rather quickly.
Davis noted that, according to Gary Hunter who helped them with the first initiative, Council would need to pass an ordinance to put the measure on the ballot by Jan. 25.
