WILKES-BARRE â With the Powerball jackpot soaring to $730 million and the Mega Millions big prize growing to about $850 million, people lined up at Anthracite Newsstand on Public Square Monday to purchase tickets.
âThere was a steady line of people this morning,â said Ann Marie Bossard, co-owner of Anthracite Newsstand.
The line came after no one matched all five numbers and the Powerball on Saturday night during the Powerball drawing. The jackpot prize for the Powerball, as it stands now, marks the fifth biggest in the history of the U.S. The Mega Millions drawing on Friday also was unsuccessful with no winner to claim that prize.
