File photo used for illustrative purposes only Muscat: Rulings over gratuity payments to expatriates working in Oman’s public sector have been welcomed by them, owing to the fairness and clarity these changes provide. The changes apply to expatriates who have served less than 10 years in government offices, and became official under Ministerial Decision No. 35/2021, which makes modifications to the country’s Civil Service Law. The decision was passed by Dr Mahad bin Said bin Ali Ba’owain, the country’s Minister of Labour. “When expat workers in the public sector do leave service, the new rules will make sure they are adequately compensated,” said Sudip Kumar, an Indian expatriate in the country. “I think the new changes make the compensation policy very fair to expatriates working in the government sector.”

say look we ll do what he is doing and say we have to downsize government. he has to take the size basically of the private sector. i wouldn t be savage on the public sector and let barack obama be accountability to public sector. we don t have voters in this town. wait a second. here is the saying. if you start attacking police men, firefighters, if you say that somebody who is on the team with an ambulance to help you out, i don t think the american people identify with that. if you get overboard, if you are not delivering services okay. but people also recognize that is person signed to be a policeman made a deal. the deal is you get this pension if you work for 20, 30 years and retire. that is part of the deal. then you say no, we ll break that deal. one other point to be made here, yes, i agree it s been a corrupt system of politicians. rewarding unions who in turn give them votes. you know what?
