San Joaquin County has moved into the less-restrictive red tier of the state s color-coded COVID-19 reopening blue print. County Public Health Officer Maggie Park announced the tier change at the county s Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. San Joaquin County was one of just three counties in the state to remain in the purple tier, the most restrictive tier of California s COVID-19 pandemic classifications. The county had been in the purple tier for months, leaving many business sectors either closed or operating with reduced services and/or capacities. Park called the move to red  great news.
