Fargo Cass Public Health Director to retire after 32 years of service, says focus needs to be placed on vaccination trends

(Fargo, ND) A key member of Fargo Cass Public Health is retiring after 32 years of service in July of 2024. Fargo Cass Public Health Director Desi Fleming announced she is seeking to retire on July 5th, 2024. Fleming served FCPH since 1992, once as a Public Health Nurse, then a Public Health Nursing Manager, a Director of Nursing, and then the Director of FCPH since 2018.

The clinic will be among the first to offer COVID-19 vaccines to children as young as 12 in La Crosse County, following a new recommendation by a federal vaccine advisory committee. (WKBT) – The consequences of holiday gatherings are starting to spread in our area. In the first full week of January, La Crosse County health officials reported 105 cases linked to holiday gatherings. Cases are also being linked to four local churches that held in-person services. The Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative said overall percent positive has increased to 32.9%t during the week, meaning nearly one in three people tested positive for the virus. But as the number of cases keeps climbing it’s important to remember who is behind them.
