Riverside County remains in orange tier for 2 more weeks

Riverside County will remain in the orange tier for another two weeks as its COVID-19 metrics again remained above the threshold for lifting more business restrictions, according to data released by public health officials at Tuesday s Board of Supervisors meeting. The county reported a case rate of 3.9 new daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents compared to last week s 4.5. The county s positivity rate is 2.1% and its positivity among at-risk populations is 2.1%, according to Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari.  Last week s positivity rate was 2.3% and positivity among at-risk populations was 2.9%. So those numbers have come down, we re actually on four consecutive days of the numbers coming down, incremental decreases, but trending in the right direction nonetheless, said Saruwatari at Tuesday s meeting.
