Public Defender: Court orders don’t modify quarantine policy
The Public Defender Service Corporation, which represents all incoming travelers who are subject to quarantine, responded to the governor’s request for a declaratory judgment regarding quarantine.
The governor filed the request with the Supreme Court of Guam in December. At the time, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said she was seeking relief from the high court because the judgment from one Superior Court judge shouldn’t be substituted for the expert opinion of health care professionals fighting COVID-19 every day on Guam.
The law provides for the court to review the quarantine policy.
