SAFE SLEEP FEATURES PARENT TRAINING: Akron Children’s Hospital and the Molly Ann Gries Foundation, founded by Meagen Gries and Jeff Gries of Hudson, have partnered to create a free online training program to educate parents and caregivers about best practices to prevent infant deaths due to unsafe sleep. The Safe Sleep Academy features interactive training for three different audiences: community health workers and home visitors; families and caregivers; and physicians and health care professionals. Each training takes about 30 minutes to complete, and those who successfully finish earn a certificate upon completion. It is available at safesleepforbabies.org.

Mar 1, 2021 EAST LIVERPOOL Vaccination appears to work, East Liverpool schools Superintendent Jonathan Ludwig explained during Thursday’s virtual meeting of the district’s school board. “Our COVID numbers have decreased significantly over the past two weeks. We continue to follow all safety protocols included in the reset and restart plan approved by the board. Students who wish to make a change to virtual or in-person learning for the fourth nine weeks can do so by calling the school counselors,” he explained to members during his report. On March 12, members of the East Liverpool Health Department area scheduled to administer the second dose of the COVID vaccine as the district continues to move forward.
