Athen. Im Prozess um den Brand im griechischen Flüchtlingslager Moria hat ein Gericht vier Migranten zu jeweils zehn Jahren Haft verurteilt. Die Afghanen legten am Samstag umgehend Berufung ein, was aber keine aufschiebende Wirkung hat. Dies berichtete der staatliche griechische Rundfunk (ERT). Der Prozess fand unter Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit statt.
Die Anwälte der Beschuldigten prangerten an, dass ihre Klienten keinen fairen Prozess erhalten hätten. Drei der Angeklagten seien zum Zeitpunkt des Vorfalls nicht als Minderjährige anerkannt worden, obwohl sie entsprechende Dokumente vorgelegt hätten.
Die Anklage basierte zu großen Teilen auf der Aussage eines Asylbewerbers, der ebenfalls in Moria lebte. Er beschuldigte insgesamt sechs Männer der Brandstiftung in dem Lager. During February, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) authorities recorded the irregular arrival of 773 migrants and asylum-seekers to the country, out of which 13 were unaccompanied and separated children (UASC). The majority of them declared to be from Afghanistan (41%) and Pakistan (32%), while the 89 per cent (689 persons) ex-pressed an intention to seek asylum. 70,856 arri-vals have been recorded since the start of the mixed movement in January 2018.
Presence in BiH at the end of the month

During the reporting week, IOM and representatives of Ministry of Security and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs (SFA) met at the new Temporary Reception Centre (TRC) Lipa to discuss future developments in the new reception centre. IOM presented the construction plans for the reconstruction at Lipa, in line with minimum humanitarian SPHERE standards. Participants were informed on the execution schedule, the tenders, and the budget necessary to complete the work. Furthermore, discussion articulated on the ways in which the Ministry of Security could help and on the timing for the transfer of migrants and asylum seekers from Provisional Camp (PC) Lipa to the new TRC Lipa.
