Rhode Island s commercial construction industry finds itself at a crossroad. Hit hard during the last recession, private and public investments in buildings and infrastructure declined dramatically, forcing many tradespeople to find jobs elsewhere. Over the past six years, our industry and workforce have steadily regained momentum. Although construction employment is still 21 percent less than the state’s peak in January 2007, construction has become more predictable.
