Saturday night, the first weekend of high school football in the Charlotte area concluded with the first-ever Keep Pounding High School Classic in Bank of America Stadium between the Providence Day Chargers and Northwestern Trojans. The two squads are star-studded and set to be two of the best in Carolinas this season and they delivered a classic game that proved just that.
The Providence Day girls, winners of the NCISAA D1 title, took top honors in the girls rankings while the Cuthbertson boys, winners in the NCHSAA 3A, were also No. 1 and followed closely behind by 4A champ Millbrook at No. 2.
