Punch Newspapers Sections ’Tosin Oluwalowo Published 14 March 2021 The Nigeria Football Federation has described as untrue reports that President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, was selected as 5th Vice President of the Confederation of African Football at Friday’s 43rd Ordinary and Elective Assembly in Rabat, Morocco. In a statement on Saturday, NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, said the report was sheer falsehood, adding that such was never discussed either on the floor of the Congress or at any meeting of the CAF leadership. “The president of NFF, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick, was elected as Member of the FIFA Council at the Congress, and that is what we are celebrating. Nobody approached him or put it up for discussion at any forum that he would be 5th Vice President.

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 14 March 2021 Enoch Adegoke and Grace Nwokocha claimed the men and women’s 100m titles respectively at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Evaluation Competition held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure on Saturday. The event, which had the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, in attendance, was organised by the Olamide George-led faction of the AFN. Adegoke, who also won the AFN All Comers event at the same venue with a World Lead time in January, claimed a second victory with a time of 10.36s ahead of Fakorede Adekalu and Jerry Jakpa in second and third places respectively, with a time of 10.51s and 10.57s.
