HAMDEN, CT A Hamden cafe s liquor license was suspended after about 180 people were found packed inside late Friday night in violation of the state s coronavirus regulations, according to officials.
Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull on Thursday issued a summary suspension of the liquor permit for Café Studio 1537, located at 1537 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden.
Café Studio 1537 hosted a large private gathering Dec. 4, according to Seagull. Hamden police were dispatched to the cafe after receiving a complaint that the business was over capacity. Arriving officers a crowded dance floor with about 150 people, many who weren t wearing masks, according to officials.
