SALT Performing Arts brings live theater back with Annie The Musical April 30-May 16

Annie, the irrepressible comic strip heroine, takes center stage in one of the world s best-loved musicals in SALT’s first 2021 show with in-person or via live-stream viewing. Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Audiences of all ages will delight in taking the journey from an orphanage down on the Lower East Side, to a mansion on Fifth Avenue, to the bright lights of Broadway. SALT’s fresh production with incredible talent, whimsical set, sound, lighting, and fanciful costumes allow you to experience the magic of Annie’s universal quest for family and belonging, whether you have grown up loving her or you are meeting her for the very first time.

The Independent Project is an annual University tradition in which theatre students have two weeks to produce a full-scale production from start to finish entirely on their own and without faculty assistance. Theatre Fairfield is the resident theatre company of Fairfield University that is made up of students, faculty and guest artists. Virtual audience members can witness performances of WOMAN AND SCARECROW via YouTube through January 31. The play was written by one of Ireland s most acclaimed living playwrights., Marina Carr, and the Theatre Fairfield production features Fairfield University students Tracy Ferguson 22, Kierstin Jones 21, Kierstin Bjork 21, and guest artist Liam Bray and is directed by Park Lytle 21.
