The commission the province set up last November to examine the affordable housing crisis in Nova Scotia has made 17 recommendations and is calling on the province to take 60 concrete actions to make the situation better.
Provincial officials say untaxed Richmond County properties may already be taxed
Officials with the Property Valuation Services Corporation and Nova Scotia Land Registry are reviewing a list of more than 50 properties that Richmond County s deputy warden says are not on the tax roll.

Richmond County finds dozens of properties not being taxed
Richmond County deputy warden Michael Diggdon was helping a friend with a property search when he found out it was not being assessed municipal taxes. That piqued his curiosity, so he looked into it and found dozens more untaxed properties, some going back to the early 1970s.
