An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire at a block of student flats in bolton. Witnesses say the blaze spread quickly to the upper floors, prompting concerns about the cladding on the block. Two people were injured. From bolton, Olivia Richwald reports. These videos posted on social media show an intense fire which spread rapidly, sending chunks of burning cladding and sparks to the ground. At first, some of the students ignored the alarms. There was this girl who came running and she banged on the doors of the people on my floor, and she just started screaming, saying that theres a fire, get out of here right now. When we were running down the stairs, it was getting higher and higher and catching really quickly. The cladding on this building is not the same as that which has been blamed for exacerbating the fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017, which killed 72 people, and the students living here in the cube have been reassured it was safe. Now, more than 100 people have had to be rescued by Emergency Services as parts of the midlands were hit by more flooding and drivers were caught out by rapidly rising water. There are more than 100 flood warnings currently in place in parts of england and wales. 0ur midlands correspondence reports where the river avon burst its banks. Rescue boats have been launched throughout the day in evesham, as water levels on the avon continue to rise. Its been quite a protracted incident for us. Theres been a number of incidents across the county, and this is just one of many that our crews are dealing with currently. The river has reached its highest level since 2007, with only one road through evesham left open. In gloucestershire have flooded after river levels in the county peaked this weekend. Levels are expected to remain high into monday, and the Environment Agency is warning it could be a while before the water subsides. Madeleine ware reports. Taking the dogs to dry land. The couple who run the boat inn by the river severn at ashleworth near gloucester were up most of the night, trying to protect it with sandbags. After a few hours sleep, they awoke to find water inside the pub. We got up when we heard the water had obviously hit the back of the pub because the barrels fell down, and at that point it started to come up through the floor. Its really upsetting, it is very, like, you put hours and hours and hard work into the pub and running it and keeping it clean and in stock, and it is hard to see it all just wet. Marks also a volunteer with the severn area rescue association. Last night, they pulled a car out of flood water close to the boat inn. They were actually trying to get to the
