SPRINGFIELD Sixteen community-based nonprofits, as well as the town of Blandford, have been awarded $1.2 million in Better Together grants by Baystate Health as part of its Community Benefits Program to help urban and rural populations in communities it serves.
The money awarded over a period of up to three years is from Baystate’s Community Health Initiative funding approved by the state and originally based on determination of needs at Baystate Medical Center in 2018. The recipients selected submitted proposals in the fall to address a need in a category determined by each of Baystate’s hospitals that impacts aspects of
