Sokoto Deputy Governor Dumps PDP, To Join Ruling APC

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party as a member. He disclosed this in a letter dated February 8, 2023, and addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Kware, Kware Local Government Area.   The letter read: “I write to notify you of withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 8th February 2023.   “I appreciate the opportunities given to me, which made me serve in various capacities under the PDP.”

President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Nigeria on Tuesday to attend the 2nd edition of the Dakar International Conference on Agriculture in Dakar, Senegal. Ebonyi Can t Be Part Of Biafra, Simon Ekpa Is The New Bandit Terrorising South-East – Governor Umahi

The Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, has described self-acclaimed member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, as a bandit leading terrorists to destabilise the South-East region. Ekpa, who claimed he was disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), rose to prominence in July 2021, after he was announced as the lead broadcaster of Radio Biafra. Some people have been reportedly killed by miscreants enforcing a five-day sit-at-home order issued by him, despite opposition by IPOB.

2023 Presidential Election: Tinubu Reacts As Nigerian Court Dismisses Suit Seeking His Disqualification

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress on Thursday, described himself as "unbreakable" following the dismissal of a suit challenging his candidacy by a Federal High Court in Abuja.   The action brought by the Action Peoples Party (APP) sought to invalidate his nomination as the APC presidential candidate for the 2023 election.   But the court on Wednesday struck out the case seeking to nullify Tinubu’s candidature.
