[applause] one of the reasons we have runaway crime is we ve seen the election of so-called progressive prosecutors oftentimes funded with donations from people like george soros and they get into office and they say we are not going to enforce certain laws because we don t like those laws. they give criminals a free pass, crime starts to go through the roof, communities get hollowed out. a total disaster. when we had one of those prosecutors in florida that said he wasn t going to enforce laws in the state of florida that he didn t like, i removed him from his post. he is gone. Four years ago, a group of Commonwealth's Attorneys were elected and started taking a new approach to law and order. They called themselves the Progressive Prosecutors for Justice, and they advocated for things like the abolition of the death penalty, ending cash bail and getting rid of mandatory minimum sentences. Now, a few of their most prominent members have challengers in the Democratic primary in Fairfax and Loudoun and in Arlington.
