And the criminal case against the sheriff has officially begun today. But unlike in many criminal cases there will be no formal arrest. The sheriff will not arrested, there will be no mugshot and there will be no arraignment. The judge agreed to waive the arraignment and the sheriffs attorneys are saying that he will plead not guilty to the charges. Arpaio could face up to six months in jail if he is convicted.
