Since medicaid was created alongside the Medicare Program in 1965, it has grown into one of the most farreaching Health Programs in our country both in terms of the number of people it serves as well as their health and life circumstances and the cost of the program. Its run by the 50 states and territories within federal guidelines and is financed by the state and federal governme government. While medicaid policy has national implications, it of course also has major implications for states and their citizens as well. And
