Eric well start this morning with new information from a shooting last night in des moines. Police say one person was shot at 3107 cambridge street, right across from findley elementary. The suspect ran from the scene shortly after the shooting. And theres no word if police have made any arrests at this point. The victim was shot in the arm and is expected to be ok. This incident is one of nearly 900 shots fired calls in to the Des Moines Police so far this year. Thats up from last years total of 848. And the years not over yet. But police say calls for service arent true indicators of crime rates. Police tell us they do use the calls to determine which neighborhoods need extra enforcement, especially during the summer months.
