Don t be self ish – get the Covid-19 vaccine , says top SWAH medic

THE Assistant Medical Director of the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) has described those who are considering not taking the Covid-19 vaccine as “selfish”. Professor Ronan O’Hare, who received his first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine on Monday, said it was disturbing that some people were not “keen” on taking the vaccine, and said they do not see the benefit it will have on society. However, “the purpose of the vaccine is to allow us to return to life as normal,” said Professor. O’Hare. “That is simple things like our children being able to go to school, being able to socialise, to go and see your friends, do sporting activities together, for people with non-Covid illnesses to come in and have their operations to have their hip replacements, for businesses and livelihoods to return to normal.
