Mask wearing could become a thing of the past for fully vaccinated people, the Tanaiste has suggested.
The US Centre for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) has advised that fully vaccinate people can “resume activities without wearing a mask of physically distancing”, except where required by law or local regulations.
Asked if Ireland would introduce the same measures, Leo Varadkar said the advice of the CDC has tended to be adopted in Ireland.

US health experts have recommended fully vaccinated people can dispense with mask wearing and social distancing, and the Republic of Ireland could follow suit.

Fine Gael’s Social Media Spokesperson has called on social media companies to remove all content from their platforms about a planned event billed as a ‘Paddy’s Day Lockdown Rave’ and asked the organisers to have a bit of cop-on and cancel this reckless event.
TD for Dublin Mid West, Emer Higgins said: “A planned St Patrick’s Day Rave currently being organised at an undisclosed location in Dublin or Kildare is being promoted online, and I am calling on social media companies to remove all content in relation to it.

It s being promoted online and organisers are charging €20 for tickets.
Fine Gael s Social Media Spokesperson has also asked the organisers of this illegal event, to have a bit of cop-on and cancel this reckless event.
