Professor David Paterson, in collaboration with the UCLA’s Professor Kalyanam Shivkumar, has been awarded a prestigious Leducq International Network of Excellence Program Award of $8 million (£6.3M) to set up a major new transatlantic network linking world leading researchers from the USA and Europe to develop ‘Bioelectronics for neurocardiology diagnosis and therapeutics’.
Professor Kalyanam Shivkumar of David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in collaboration with Professor David Paterson, of Oxford University has been awarded a prestigious Leducq International Network of Excellence Program Award of $8 million to set up a major new transatlantic network linking world leading researchers from the United States and Europe to develop bioelectronics and therapies that target the nervous system to treat heart diseases.
The 2021 Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine has been awarded to David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian for their discoveries of receptors for temperature and touch.
