The shallow-water ace from Florida captured his sixth career tour-level victory over the weekend at the Lewis Smith Lake FLW Pro Circuit in Alabama. He averaged 15 1/2 pounds a day on a fishery that was quite stingy as bass were transitioning from their cold-water haunts to shallower pre-spawn locations and eventually to the beds. Seemingly, only the newest arrivals from the depths were in a chewing frame of mind.

The Bass Fishing Hall of Fame has partnered with noted bass fishing historian and writer Terry Battisti, the creator of the Bass Fishing Archives (BFA), to publicize, enhance and build upon BFAs existing trove of historical data, interviews and recollections. The Bass Fishing Archives website (www.bass-archives.com) comprises the most detailed and comprehensive set of articles about bass fishings history, and this joint effort will further the Halls mission of celebrating, promoting and preserving the sport.

John Cox employed three different baits to compile his 16-13 bag on day 2 at Lewis Smith Lake.
By MLF Communications Staff John Cox caught his second straight 16-13 stringer on Friday to move into the lead at the midway point of the Lewis Smith Lake MLF Pro Circuit in Alabama with a two-day total of 33-10. He ll start the weekend with a 1-12 lead over day-1 leader Kerry Milner who boxed 13-14 in the second round.
Cox said hed been itching to sight-fish beds, but didnt allow himself to even look on either day.
