Ekiti Group Says Federal Varsity Registrar s Suspension Vindicates Youths, Accused Denies Allegations

A group under the aegis of Nigerian Youth Congress (Ekiti State chapter) has described the recent suspension of the Registrar of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Mr Olatunbosun Odusanya as vindicating youths in the state.
They claimed they had engaged in a series of protests, agitations and petitions against the appointment of the suspended Registrar.
They said the host state was not considered in the employment of principal officers as federal character system was not followed in the university employment system.

have just ended an eventful tenure as the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Oye-Ekiti. Can you share your experience with us?
I was the Vice Chancellor after Prof Chinedu Nebo, who was actually the pioneer VC and Prof Isaac Asuzu. Between them, they shared five-year tenure because Prof Nebo was appointed as the Minister of Power by President Goodluck Jonathan. Having said that, what really occurred was that I was only saddled with the mere pioneer status in view of what we had to do. Fasina appointed as new FUOYE VC

The governing council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has announced the appointment of a professor of soil science, Abayomi Sunday Fasina as the new vice chancellor of the institution.
Fasina who is the current deputy vice Chancellor (Administration) will succeed Professor Kayode Soromekun as the third substantive VC of the university in February.
According to a statement by the institution’s deputy director, corporate affairs, Adeyinka Ademuyiwa, he said the decision was taken at a meeting presided over by the pro-chancellor and chairman of council, Dr Mohammed Lawan Yahuza on Wednesday
