elections and yeah, there was some process stuff. they were going to do more outreach. get themselves structured better. have better computer systems. a lot of that kind of stuff, process stuff. but the one policy prescription the republican party had for itself, the one policy idea, the one policy must was that republicans must find a way to support immigration reform. that s what the republican party told itself after losing the last election. they must find a way to say yes to immigration reform. and republicans in the senate, enough of them at least, agreed. 14 republican senators voted with the democrats when the senate passed immigration reform back in june. it was bipartisan. a bunch of republicans signed on, including some that are going to be running for president. so, in the senate, they passed it in june and so then, it goes to the house. and now it s november. and tonight, kevin mccarthy just
anything at all. and i don t see that as an epithet. they have passed no significant legislation since they have been in session at all, all year long. nothing. they didn t shut down the government. they did almost make the government default. that s like counting errors instead of runs. in terms of actually accomplishing anything, they have done nothing. the one thing they have just announced they are not even going to try. a year ago this week mitt romney lost anything pweug to president obama they commissioned a sort of autopsy, no holds barred examination of what went wrong in the election and what the party needed to do to stop losing all the national elections. there was some process stuff. they were going to do more outreach. they were going to have better computer systems. there s a lot of that kind of stuff, process stuff.

it s a challenging issue. immigration reform has been hard. how does it get done? it gets done when people of different persuasions get together saying i will give on this if you give on that. that process stuff is what the president is unwilling to do. the affordable care act. that was a partisan bill that passed. you can blame republicans for not voting. the point is, that was not a bipartisan compromise. wants to get people together. you might disagree. that s his history and temperment. he tries to bring people together and he s willing to make compromises. if we were going to elect mitt romney with a congress that was 87% democrat in both houses that would be one thing. i would be curious to see how he would conduct himself. we are not elected him into that. we are electing him with a house
