Democrats are considering going it alone with a much more expansive and expensive bill. The latest on these negotiations. Good evening, bret. Tonights meeting is the first time that President Biden has invited them to the white house and all of them are republicans. Whether or not he is willing to compromise or not to earn their support is still very much. Go big or go bipartisan. Thats the question President Joe Biden faces as he attempts to pass his 1. 9 trillion stimulus package. The president calls for bipartisan support and 10 moderate republican senators responded to the roughly 600 billion plan of their own. Im going to do everything i can to encourage the president to do something that is much more targeted from the 1. 9 trillion package. He was one of the ten moderates to send a letter to him on sunday reminding him of the promise tomorrows going to be it looks like you are in the snow globe at the white house. Thank you. Down the street from the bipartisan meeting in the oval
Dana perino along with judge jeanine pirro, harold ford jr. , Jesse Watters and greg gutfeld. Its 5 00 in New York City and this is the five. Well, its a real bloodbath for the medias credibility. Team biden, democrats and the liberal press all teaming up to take donald trump completely out of context of her comments the former president made about a bloodbath in the Auto Industry during his rally in ohio. Heres what he actually said. Were going to put a 100 tariff on every single car that comes across the line and youre not going to be able to sell those. If i get elected, now if i dont get elected, its going to be a bloooodbath for the whole thats going to be the least of it. Its going to get bloodbath of the country. That will be the least of it. Theyre not going to sell those cars. Dana the media leaving out the full context of what trump was saying, instead pumping out these headlines promoting the misleading bloodbath interpretation. Implying that a former president was calling f
Cultural life, the radio four podcast, she reveals her formative influences and experiences, and how her passion for playing was there from the start. I knew very young there was no question i wanted to play the violin. There was no question that that was what i must do and had to do and wanted to do. Have you played here much, nicky . They chuckle nicola benedetti, welcome to this cultural life. Thank you so much for having me. Its an absolute pleasure. You were born and brought up in north ayrshire. What are your earliest musical memories at home . What memories do you have of music being played at home . The bee gees and abba. Later on, good dose of shania twain. That was all my dads taste. My mum definitely had a kenny g record. Um. She laughs saxophone . Theyll kill me for saying all of this quite like this, but its the truth both of your parents were born in italy, werent they . Yes. Was it an italian household culturally growing up . Its a good question. I would say both parents
But its the truth both of your parents were born in italy, werent they . Yes. Was it an italian household culturally growing up . Its a good question. I would say both parents assimilated very concretely and quite deliberately with scottishness and scottish culture, but they also came over very young. My mum was three years old. An italian speaking three year old with an italian mother and scottish father. Um. Came over to scotland and, er. Was sort of banned from speaking italian quite quickly. It was considered to be detrimental to her education and all sorts of things. We know better now. So my mum lost most of her italian, um. And it was a very scottish upbringing from that moment forward. And my dad, he came over when he was kind of ten or ii. Came over without his parents. Had a rough time, you know, adjusting to such a different culture. It was a good, healthy mix. But as far as mealtimes go and food, we were italian all the way. You mentioned you started playing the violin at t
Lose territory, they will lose people, they will lose momentum on the front line of the biggest War In Europe since world war ii. Our politics cant seem to process that. It is a real statement of priorities on behalf of the United States of america. My friend ben rhodes, thank you for your time and thoughts tonight, really appreciate it. Thanks, alex. That is our show for the evening. Now it is time for last word with lawrence odonnell. Alex, i was listening to your discussion and i have some concerns about the way we use the word strongman because i fear it can sound just too good to too many voters who think the president of the United States supposed to be a strong man . It is a term weve been using for decades in a way that everyone using it electively understood. Im not sure it communicates what we would like it to communicate here. You are so right. We should call it fascist fan and the boys. That is the essence of what is happening here. I dont have a suggestion, im feeling awkw
