FORT MYERS, Fla. – A chop shop may be sitting in plain sight right in downtown Fort Myers.
Fort Myers Police found several stolen vehicles including a semi-truck on the property. The City’s Code Enforcement team also paid the warehouse a visit, citing the warehouse with several violations.
Police said no one is allowed on the property as they work to identify the stolen vehicles and likely, stolen parts. Business owners along Edwards Street see transporters, loaded with vehicles, going in and out of the warehouse every week.
“Since I moved to Florida, nothing surprises me,” said Kathy Francis, the manager of Pro Tech Auto Services.
