According to San Francisco police, it happened after midnight on 18th and diamond street. Officers working in the area on halloween night, a busy night in the Castro District was flagged down for a suspicious vehicle. Gunfire was exchanged. You have an officer that was shot, a suspect that was shot. Both sent to the hospital, their conditions are unknown at this time. As far as street closures, there are a number of street closures on diamond and market. You have 19th affected as well as castro to eureka. Investigators say its unclear what triggered the shooting, who shot first or how many shots were fired. Both the 41yearold officer, a nineyear veteran and the suspect were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
