Priyanka Chopra increases Covid donation amount to $3 million
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been actively raising funds to help India battle the second wave of Covid19. The actress started a fundraiser and has been able to collect more than $1 million that is being used to procure oxygen cylinders, concentrators and other things for the patients. She has even raised the target to $3 million (Rs 22 cr). People have been struggling for medical assistance as the number of cases is increasing alarmingly. Taking to her Instagram stories, PeeCee gave an update about the fundraiser.
Priyanka Chopra wrote, Your contributions are making things happen. Here s a quick update. With funds received so far, we ve procured around 500 oxygen concentrators which means providing more than 2500 patients with oxygen supply each month. She added, Manpower for 10 vaccination centres which will help over 6000 people to get vaccinated over a span of 2 months. 422 oxyg

Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas has come forward to help India in times of COVID 19 crisis. The actress and her husband actor-singer Nick Jonas have set up a fundraiser to help India in times of the pandemic. Posting a video on Instagram, the actress urged to donate in their capacity to help the needy. A worried Priyanka in the video is heard saying, Why do we need to care? Why is it so urgent right now? I am sitting in London and hearing from my friends and family in India about how hospitals are at capacity, there are no rooms in ICUs, ambulances are too busy, oxygen supply is less, crematoriums having mass cremations because the volume of death is so much. India is my home and India is bleeding.â

Priyanka Chopra on Thursday urged the global community to donate funds to help India, which she said is bleeding due to a brutal second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Soon after her post, her singer-actor husband Nick Jonas also shared a post appealing all to donate for the country. Sharing an infographic that reads, India needs our help , Nick wrote, India needs our help. Please give what you can. I love you India.
Seeing Nick s post, a number of Indian fans took to the comment box lauding him for his efforts. Nick, who is lovingly called jiju in India received many thanking notes from his fans for his post.
