The first sitting of the Public Bill Committee is expected to be on Tuesday 18 May. Written evidence can now be sent in to the Public Bill Committee which will be set up when the Bill is re-presented to the House in the new Session. The Committee is scheduled to report by Thursday 24 June.

Police acknowledge the findings by the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA) relating to the care of a man who was taken into Police custody in September 2019.
Police had been called to an address in Manurewa after the man was reported to have been shouting, swearing, and possibly assaulting his partner.
When our officers arrived at the scene, they found the man asleep on the driveway.
Once woken, he became aggressive and uncooperative.
Police were told he was possibly under the influence of drugs.
Officers attempted to call for an ambulance but were told it was going to take some time to arrive.

According to the response to a freedom of information request submitted by criminal barrister Tomas McGarvey and seen by the
Gazette, since May last year the agency has carried out safety inspections of the cell and custody areas at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) and Southwark Crown Court in London. Site visits have not been made to any of the other 77 Crown courts hearing jury trials at present.
Ministry of Justice officials said that cell areas are checked by the Prisoner Escort and Custody Service (PECS). The ministry renewed a contract with outsourcer Serco to provide the service in October 2019.

WARANGAL: A heavily drunk constable, 53-year-old Kondaviti Vigneswara Balaprasad, has created a great commotion at the Sri Venugopala Swamy temple near MGM Hospital in Warangal on Saturday night.
The constable was handling a 9mm pistol, with which he made the commotion. He worked as a head constable with the Armed Reserve, working as a Prisoner Escort at MGM Hospital. The constable was wielding the weapon against the people, where everyone was fearful.
The local police rushed to the spot to find control over the situation created by the drunken constable. Mattewada sub-inspector P Srinivas Reddy said that a case has been registered under Arms Act on the constable.
