Solar pays its way
As a residential solar owner, I must respond to the misleading op-ed “Change Solar Subsidies to Benefit All.”
To support her demand to void the 20-year statutory promise to solar owners, the author claims that residential solar is heavily subsidized by other ratepayers. In fact, I paid thousands of dollars for the solar infrastructure for my retirement home. And many of us with rooftop solar build up “credits” each year based on the value of the excess green energy we contribute to the power grid. At the end of each billing year, however, we receive only about 10% of the actual value as a rebate check.
