One of the headlines from this story today is the smoke and ash that you see in the air. Were at the Evacuation Center which is at least 20 minutes south of where the fire is burning. You can see how much smoke and ash is in the air and its making people nervous. 18,000 acres burned so far and its only 5 contained according to cal fire. They say three structures have burned and 450 structures are threatened or evacuated. I tried asking some of the people how many were evacuated and they say its at least several hundred. From the Information Center we learned that the fire is burning in a northeastern direction and there are some people being housed at the Evacuation Center at middleton high school. 20 people spent the night last night and more are expected today. Its pretty scary and stressful because the fire keeps shifting and they dont know from one minute to the next if theyre going back home soon or whether its going to be a while. Its been stressful.
