KISSIMMEE, Fla – Gaylord Palms Resort said Thursday it is set to open the all-new Crystal River Rapids attraction on March 1.
Inspired by Florida’s spring-fed rivers, guests will dive into the heated, racing currents to encounter roaring waterfalls, crumbling limestone walls and alcoves, allowing guests to take in the views of Cypress Springs Water Park.

ORLANDO, Fla. â According to Visit Orlando, in November of 2020 hotel occupancy was down 56%, and now venues across the city are getting creative in order to entice South Floridians to make the drive up the Turnpike.

KISSIMMEE, Fla – Gaylord Palms Resort has welcomed back its Pirate and Princess Weekends.
Running until March 7, the event transports guests on a pirate- and princess-filled adventure inside the resort’s lush atrium as well as outside at the at Cypress Springs Water Park. Guests will hear tales of adventure, pirate-inspired music and enjoy a sip of the captain’s brew inside the new immersive show Pirate Outpost Invasion.
The Pirate Outpost Invasion is taking over the Old Hickory Steakhouse, which is currently not being used in Gaylord Palms’ Everglades Swamp.
